Woodcrafts at Combe Mill

The last steaming event at the Mill this year will feature crafts people demonstrating their skills, along with working steam-driven machines and traditional tools.

The Museum also offers fascinating exhibits and good refreshments at their riverside Tea Room.

The new quizzing season will begin in Chadlington on 20th October, continuing with the Bowls Club as the venue.
As usual teams of six are welcome to join the event. Please e-mail Nigel direct to put your team forward. If you do not have a full team, he will try to match you with others.

‘Around the Plough’ guided walk

This ‘moderate’ walk of six and a half miles will pass through the ancient Wychwood Forest, leaving Finstock, passing a holy well on the way towards historic Wilcote Manor. The return route is along the Evenlode via Stonesfield and the Oxfordshire Way. Lunch at The Plough after the walk.

This is a fairly gentle walk and gives nice views of the Evenlode Valley but also passes through wooded areas. May be muddy after prolonged rainfall. Lunch orders will be taken at the start of the walk.

The walk will be guided by Tony Merry, a voluntary warden for the AONB.

Good Neighbours’ Afternoon Tea

The Good Neighbours project are continuing to host Thursday afternoon teas between 2.30 and 4 p.m. throughout the Autumn and in to Winter 2019.

Everyone is welcome – meet up with old friends, make new friends. We look forward to seeing you for a cup of tea and a piece of cake.

There is no charge for refreshments but a donation would be very welcome. Please let the organisers know if you require transport by calling 07541 235002

‘The Ancient Forest of Wychwood’ guided walk

This ‘moderate’ walk of nine miles, hopefully with Autumn colours, takes place in an area once covered by the ancient forest of Wychwood. Learn about the Forest Charter and its importance to local people of the time. En route we pass villages, parkland and a fine medieval church. Please bring a packed lunch.

The walk will be guided by Janet Moore and Margaret Burden, voluntary wardens for the AONB.

Adderbury Ensemble Chamber Group with Martin Perkins on the harpsichord.

This will be a baroque concert including Pachelbel’s Canon and trio sonatas by Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli and Bach.
