State of Nature in Oxfordshire 2017

Wild Oxfordshire – a countywide local conservation charity, have produced this report together with a number of other groups, to record the current condition of Oxfordshire’s natural habitats and species. The work was funded by Oxfordshire County Council, Natural England and Banbury Ornithological Society.

Although the detailed evidence that has been collected does show some concerning losses in biodiversity, the county still has some of the rarest and finest grasslands in the country. Also, local populations of threatened species, such as water voles, have recovered. The area of woodland has increased over the last 30 years.

If you would like to see this fascinating and very well-presented report for yourself, it is available on their website and hard copies can be obtained by calling 01865 407034 or by e-mail
