Tour of Britain Cycle Race

Stage seven of the The Tour of Britain will be passing near Chadlington on its 186 kilometre route from Hemel Hempstead to Cheltenham. Riders will come through Charlbury on 9th September around lunchtime and cycle down Dyers Hill past the station on their way to Shipton under Wychwood. Any photos of the race passing Chadlington at the top of Catsham Lane on the B4437 will be very welcome for the website (send to the Editor via the ‘Contact Us button).

OVO Energy Tour of Britain

The Tour of Britain is the country’s only elite cycle stage race, so attracts many of the greatest bike riders in the world. In previous years these have included Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish and Chris Froome.

Roads will be closed either side of the riders’ passage through Charlbury and cars should be moved off the road. Charlbury will be showing the town at its best to riders, visitors and TV cameras, the Street Fair bunting will be strung up and they intend to organise family cycling events, stalls and rides.
