A fascinating new book which charts Chipping Norton’s history through a survey of its buildings from the 12th to the 18th century will be published in September. The book is by Adrienne Rosen and Janice Cliffe. The historical research is partly based on a historic buildings survey undertaken by the Chipping Norton Buildings Record group.
The book includes a series of ‘walks’ along each of the medieval streets, describing the historical features, such as the coaching inn, a medieval archway, a goal and a horse pool. A launch party will be held at Jaffe and Neale on 7th September at 6 p.m.
