“Haste makes waste” – new recycling and disposal arrangements from 1st Oct.

West Oxfordshire District Council may not be aware of this 16th Century proverb but they are certainly keen that householders take their time reading a 10 page guidance booklet delivered to all households and a new leaflet on ‘charges for the disposal of non-household waste!

The booklet includes a comprehensive explanation of how to use the new blue recycling bin, which will be collected fortnightly; the old recycling cartons to contain glass (also collected fortnightly); the garden waste bin (if you’ve paid for one); the grey rubbish bin and the food waste bin, which will be collected weekly. Hope you’re keeping up!

The leaflet explains that a small fixed fee will be charged per item of non-household waste (e.g. rubble/old units/garden sheds from DIY) taken to the household waste recycling centres.

All these changes will be in place from October 1st 2017. Any queries can be made via the Council’s website or by calling 01993 861025.
