Data protection and the village website

You may be aware that data protection law is changing and a new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into force. This website has a record of subscribers’ e-mail addresses and so is also subject to the new data protection rules.  There is no other personal data held.

If you have requested regular e-mails from the site, at any time over the last few years, your e-mail address will have been recorded. You will know because whenever new posts appear in the ‘News’ section of the Home page, you will be getting a personal e-mail alerting you to this new post. This alerts process happens automatically and the Editor does not see a mailing list or use the e-mail information manually to send alerts or for any other purpose. The list will not be shared with any one else and it is kept secure within the website software.

You are entitled to request that your e-mail address is no longer used for this purpose. You can do this through the ‘Contact Us’ button at the bottow of this page. It would also be helpful if you could keep us informed if you change your e-mail address, so that an amendment can be made – again please use the ‘Contact Us’ button.
