A very busy term so far

Chadlington C of E Primary School is back with a bang. Well more of a loud snap actually as the Clapperboard has been signalling the theme for the term, ‘We are the Little Acorn Film Company’.

The Romans have been a major focus in the opening weeks of the autumn, with Years 3 and 4 heading up to the Lake District to learn about the Romans in Britain, and some of the skills required during those times, including making and baking their own bread from scratch.

All of the Key Stage 2 pupils headed to the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, and there has been plenty of intrigue amongst all of the top 4 years as they have read The Thieves of Ostia by Caroline Lawrence – this was then wonderfully complemented by a visit from the author herself, who was able to give the children an incredible workshop on writing mystery stories, and setting a scene in a historical era.

The reception class, and Years 1 and 2 have been to meet the Chippy Mayor, with the former settling in well to the school environment at the same time, and they all combined harmoniously to sing their hearts out at the recent Harvest Festival service.

The Footballers were superb at the Chipping Norton Primary School tournament held at Chipping Norton School, with the boys winning the Small Schools Trophy with ease, and the girls missing out on top spot solely on goal difference.

Half term is from 22nd to 26th October and the end of the Autumn Term will be on 21st December.
