Broadband cable laying works starting soon

The Editor has been notified by Gigaclear that week beginning 30th September residents will receive a letter explaining that they are about to begin works in the village. Orange leaflets from the company about their works have been left in the Café and at Chadlington Quality Foods.

They are currently intending to start work in the week beginning 14th October and the Parish Council is trying to arrange an opportunity for members of the community to meet with the company and raise any issues during the early stages of the works in the village. Notice of a date and time for the meeting will be given as soon as possible.

The contractors will also letter drop residents who live alongside the roads where they will be working. This usually occurs 5 working days before they commence. The contractors (MKJ) will have two build teams in the community, one team will be starting on Horseshoe Lane and the other in Dean. New and revised Network Access Agreements will be sent to private landowners. The company say that they aim to locate cabinets as discretely as possible.

Gigaclear want to reassure us that they will try and coordinate road works outside the Primary School with the half-term holiday. They are providing a contact to the Parish Council if there is a need to flag up any issues or difficulties.
