'Long Day, Short Day, Moreday and Mufftie' guided walk @ Stonesfield Post Office | Stonesfield | England | United Kingdom

This ‘easy’ walk of two miles is a Sunday afternoon stroll around the village of Stonesfield, once a centre for the production of the characteristic Cotswold roofing slates.

Stonesfield was once a thriving centre for the production of limestone roofing slates which are a historic and typical feature of the Cotswold AONB. We will see how the slates were used in this hilltop village, visit sites associated with their mining and production and look at why the industry declined.

Suitable for families but some short steep and uneven sections difficult for buggies and wheelchairs. Please park carefully near the Post Office. The walk will be guided by Tony Graeme, a voluntary warden for the AONB.
