Ovo Energy Women’s Tour of Britain cycle race in Charlbury

Jun 12, 2019 @ 1:45 pm – 2:30 pm
main routes in Charlbury

The prestigious World Tour race will be coming through Charlbury on its way to a stage finish at Blenheim Palace. Whereas the men’s tour, which visited in 2017, is in the second tier of international cycling events, the Women’s Tour is in the top tier, meaning most of the world’s top women cyclists will be racing.

The route into Charlbury takes the cyclists down Forest Road, so the race can also be seen, from approximately 1.30 p.m. depending of the speed of the riders, passing the top of Catshum Lane.  Any pictures of the race will be very welcome for this website. Just send via the ‘Contact Us’ link at the bottom of the page.

Obviously, roads in the area may be closed throughout the pre- and post-race periods for a while on 12th June. There will be a ‘rolling roadblock’ with roads closed to traffic for 15 minutes before the race arrives. They will reopen once all the riders (and race vehicles) have passed through.

It’s also likely that there will be parking restrictions in Charlbury but details of these have not been published yet.
