Chadlington Lunch Club

The Chadlington Lunch Club meets once a month at the Memorial Hall in Chapel Road. The Club is open to older senior citizens and offers a tasty hot lunch in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Donations towards the cost of providing the lunch are gratefully accepted but entirely voluntary. No need to contact anyone before coming along, just turn up, except for the Xmas lunch which needs to be booked in advance.

U3A Open Afternoon

Everyone is welcome to find out more about our local U3A groups. There will be coffee/tea and cake free to all-comers.

The Third Age refers to the period of life when full time work is over and there is time to meet new friends, follow hobbies and interests and explore new ones. It is a charitable organisation, which has been established for over thirty years and now has over 425,000 members and more than 1,039 local branches.

This local University of the Third Age group runs over 20 special interest programmes, ranging from architecture to watercolour painting, through Italian conversation and social cycling. There’s something for everyone and an opportunity to meet with like-minded people.

Chipping Norton Arts Festival

THE THEME OF THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL IS, CONNECT – art to SEE and art to EXPERIENCE with workshops on Figure Drawing, Print-Making, Comic book Illustration and many others.

Exhibitions and demonstrations of Painting, Drawing and Printing as well as many and varied artisan Arts and Crafts in various locations around the town. There will also be another showing of Chadlington Primary School’s latest ‘release’ from their in-house film company, The Little Acorns, a company run by the children! Chadnorton is a short film based on Trumpton. For inspiration, the children investigated jobs in and around Chipping Norton, and worked with professionals including Jim Parkin, Head Model Maker from Aardman, to create a delightful stop-motion animation. This event is at 11 a.m. in the Theatre and will start with a making-of documentary.

Featured in The Town Hall is the amazing OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN ALL THE WORLD by internationally renowned arts group ‘Stan’s Cafe’ This fascinating and thought provoking installation has never been seen before in Oxfordshire. Take this opportunity to experience this rare and inspiring event.

Chipping Norton Theatre is hosting not only a group show by members of CNarts on the theme of CONNECT but there will be screenings of; SHANE THE CHEF, THE CLANGERS, HORRID HENRY, and DOCTOR WHO. With Industry professionals explaining how some of these amazing shows are conceived and created.

Woodcrafts at Combe Mill

The last steaming event at the Mill this year will feature crafts people demonstrating their skills, along with working steam-driven machines and traditional tools.

The Museum also offers fascinating exhibits and good refreshments at their riverside Tea Room.
